Shenachie was a finalist in the international competition to find a new Scottish Musical in 2006 – THE HIGHLAND QUEST – sponsored by the Cameron Mackintosh Foundation, Eden Court Theatre and The Scottish Government.

Shenachie is a groundbreaking new musical.   The music is a delightfully fresh and inspiring blend of Celtic and classical style, with the occasional hint of a popular Broadway song.  

The story is set in the Highlands of Scotland at the time of the notorious Highland Clearances, when tenants were forcibly evicted from their homes to make room for sheep farming.  

It follows the lives and loves of a group of Highland villagers, first as they face impending exile, then through the Glasgow slums, and finally as they make the agonizing decision to leave their friends behind and seek a new life in the Americas.
