Community Roots

Community Roots

Imagination leads to dreams.

Dreams inspire ambition.

Ambition fosters achievement.

Achievement creates productive people.

Productive people bring success and vision to their communities.

What is Community Roots?

Through our creative ‘inclusive arts projects’ we champion accessibility and provide a platform for people with learning and physical disabilities to experience quality drama, music, film and technical aspects of theatre.

Through the workshops, we provide quality training, and harness talent in a flexible and realistic way, and provide a stimulating and enjoyable experience for the disabled and able-bodied actors and volunteer’s alike.

Participants appear in specially devised productions, which are performed at the Tolbooth Theatre, Stirling; where they are supported in the rehearsal room and in performance by professional actors and creatives.

The workshops, rehearsals and shows are about working together, learning from each other, personal development, respecting different abilities and, not least, having fun! ‘

Our award winning ‘Community Roots’ programme is produced in association with our Funders, Sponsors and Volunteers from the local community.

Who can take part?

The workshop is primarily aimed at people with disabilities, but we welcome participants of all ages and backgrounds.

What can you learn?

Performing on-stage is the main attraction, but there are plenty of activities behind the scenes too for participants who prefer to stay out of the limelight.

When's the next workshop?

Community Roots are funded on a project by project basis.
